At the tail end of his historic visit to India, President Trump got in a heated confrontation with CNN’s senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta.
An agitated Trump went so far as to tell Acosta he should be “ashamed” before going on to blast the network he works for.
Per Fox News:
Acosta asked Trump if he would accept foreign interference in the upcoming election and how he could justify replacing Joseph Maguire as acting director of national intelligence.
The president didn’t appreciate the two-part question.
“First of all, I want no help from any country, and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump answered before referencing a report that CNN had to walk back on Sunday. “If you see what CNN, your wonderful network said, I guess they apologized in a way. Didn’t they apologize for the fact that they said certain things that weren’t true? Tell me, what was their apology yesterday? What did they say?”
Acosta fired back, “Mr. President, I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes.”
Trump responded by excoriating Acosta’s record of journalist integrity, or lack thereof in his opinion, by saying over the protesting reporter, “Your record is so bad that you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You have probably the worst record in the history of broadcasting.”

I read, somewhere, that they’d given him 162,879 Pinocchios, which is to damn with faint praise. I think he’s earned WAY more than that. I’ve contacted The White House and asked them to let me take the microphone away from him, next time he gets out of line. I offered to ‘Pants’ him as well; I wonder what excuse he’ll have whwn the world discovers he wears pink ladies underwear?
